SCHEDULE OF FEES

  1. In addition to the fees paid to the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, there are a separate set of fees that are required to be paid to the State Government of Sikkim. Payment has to be made at the Office of the Resident Commissioner of Sikkim at Delhi at the time of obtaining the final clearance of the State Government. The fees payable are the following:

    1. Royalty for climbing of peaks -
      Peaks above 8000 Mtrs.US Dollar 8000
      Peaks between 7501-8000 MTRS.US Dollar 7000
      Peaks between 7001-7500 MTRS.US Dollar 6000
      Peaks between 6501-7000 Mtrs.US Dollar 5500
      Peaks below 6500 Mtrs.US Dollar 5000

      1. The fees can be paid in Indian Currency. The dollar-rupee conversion rate shall be the prevailing rate of exchange on the date of payment.
      2. Mountaineering expeditions booked through registered travel agencies located in Sikkim are entitled to a twenty percent rebate in the fees. Expeditions sponsored by the Sonam Guatso Mountaineering Institute at Gangtok and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute at Darjeeling are also entitled for the same concession.
      3. Indian expeditions, i.e., expeditions comprising Indian Nationals only are required to pay fifty percent of the fees. Joint expeditions comprising foreigners and Indians will not be entitled to this concession.
    2. Trekking Fees-

    3. ENTRY FEE IN THE KHANGCHENDZONGA 9HIGH ALTITUDE) NATIONAL PARK (KNP)
      1. Indian(i) Rs. 100/- per head for first 5 days
      (ii) Rs. 15/- per head per day for additional days.
      2. Foreigner(i) Rs. 200/- per head for first 5 days.
      (ii) Rs. 50/- per head per day for additional days.
      3. Student
      a) Indian(i) Rs. 50/- per head for first 5 days.
      (ii) Rs. 10/- per head per day for additional days
      b) Foreigner(i) Rs. 100/- per head for first 5 days.
      (ii) Rs. 25/- per head per day for additional days.
      4) Guide and porter with teamRs. 5/- per head per day
      5) Pack Animal Rs. 5/- per animal per day
      6) Tent Pitching charge Rs. 20/- per tent per day

    4. ENTRY FEE IN THE WILDLIFE SANCTUARIES (WLS)

      (ii) Rs. 10/- per head per day for additional days
      2) Foreigner (i) Rs. 150/- per head for first 5 days
      (ii) Rs. 35/- per head per day for additional days
      3) Student
      a) Indian (i) Rs. 25/- per head for first 5 days.
      (ii) Rs. 10/- per head per day for additional days
      b) Foreigners (i) Rs. 50/- per head for first 5 days
      (ii) Rs. 15/- per head per day for additional days
      4) Guide and porter with team Rs. 5/- per head per day
      5) Pack Animal Rs. 5/- per animal per day
      6) Tent Pitching charge Rs. 20/- per tent per day.

    5. CAMERA OPERATING FEES

      a) Foreigner -Rs.100/- per head per night
      b) Indian -Rs. 50/- per head per night

    8. CONCESSION: Mountaineering and trekking expeditions conducted through the local tour operators, local guides and local porters will be given a concession of 20 percent on entry and tent pitching fees only for a period of two years.
